In the Trenches

In the Trenches Sited in an unusual, narrow, dark and dead-ended space in the basement of a decommissioned school. It imagined an intense, archaic lesson, in which the willing and innocent voice of a girl learning to sing “The Maple Leaf Forever” was contrasted with the impossible demands made by her interruptive, relentless male teacher. This “music lesson” examined history, pedagogy, and power dynamics.
